Andrew's Birthday

I am a bit behind in the blogging world and just wanted to post this before I get wrapped up in blogging about our recent trip to Spain. Andrew turned 3 a week before we left for Europe and we weren't sure about doing a birthday party for him because things were busy/hectic with getting ready to leave town for 2 weeks... but we ended up throwing a little something together and it turned out better than planned so we were happy about that. I really enjoyed seeing my close friends that I grew up with and they all have little boys the same age or very close to Andrew so we all had a great time! My Aunt Vicky came up from Utah for Andrew's birthday, she hasn't missed one since he was born. I love that she makes it down here for his special day, and he loves it too!
We did a "Cars" themed birthday for Andrew (of course) and had pizza and cake, it was simple but worked. It took place at Lone Mountain Park which was very accomodating, and the kids really enjoyed it. We had a few things mapped out for the kids, a coloring station, the playground, a pinata, but what they enjoyed most was a game that Andy came up with. It was his own version of red light/green light made into a race and he had "Cars" characters printed for each child to pick. I loved seeing them all run around. Here are some pics from an evening of fun.

Look at them go, it was awesome!

Winded and lined up again for more racing

All Andrew wanted for his birthday was balloons, a cake, and a birthday hat. Thanks for keeping it simple bud! I can handle that! We had a great evening and I was so glad we ended up doing a little party for him. He still talks about his birthday and how much fun he had. Thanks to all our friends and family that attended!
